Warm welcome to all makers! This week we have a photo tutorial for what I am calling the cumulus stitch!
Shown here in black and white so you can better appreciate how @inspired_professor cam up with the stitch name.
This stitch pattern can also be found in Vogue: Dictionary of Crochet Stitches by Anne Mathews (c.1987). As with every other stitch, I have tried to translate the instructions into modern crochet speech :D.
Onwards!
STITCHES USED (US terms) :
ch – chain
sc – single crochet/ UK dc
dc – double crochet / UK treble
Shell – 5 dc in the same stitch / UK 5 trebles in the same stitch
ROW 1
Repeat from * to * ending with 1 sc in the last chain. Ch2 and turn
ROW 2:
Repeat from * to * ending with a sc on top of the ch2. Turn
REPEAT ROW 2 FOR THE DURATION OF YOUR PROJECT!
This stitch does come out a bit curvy so to straighten out the edges of the coasters I did a round of sc as a border.
let me now if you use this stitch in any of your makes!
XOXO
