Extended Single Crochet Stitch Tutorial

Learn to crochet the extended single crochet stitch in the round. This stitch is one of my go to stitches for garments and socks. // Aprende a tejer el punto bajo extendido, mi puntada favorita para tejer blusas y medias.

Stitch Details:

I have been meaning to share a tutorial for this crochet stitch since I first designed with it. The extended single crochet (ex sc)stitch is a simple but visually appealing stitch. Of course, you can crochet many items with this stitch, but I much prefer it for garments. This stitch provides a bit of texture and stretch without being full of holes. I also love using this stitch to crochet socks.

EXTENDED SINGLE CROCHET STITCH TUTORIAL:

Materials:

Yarn of your choice – I used Bernat Maker Home Dec (I really love the stitch definition you get with this yarn.)

Hook of your Choice – I used a Size K 6.5 mm

1. Chain your required number of stitches, for this tutorial I chained (ch) 26. Join with a slip stitch to form a ring. Ch1.
2. *Insert your hook in the chain, pull up a loop, yarn over pull through 1 loop, yarn over pull through 2 remaining loops* . Repeat from * to * around. Slip stitch to join. Ch 1
3. Insert your hook in the ex sc from the precious round, pull up a loop, yarn over pull through 1 loop, yarn over pull through 2 remaining loops.

1. Hacemos una cadeneta, para este ejemplo yo he hecho una cadeneta de 26. Unimos la cadeneta con un punto raso para formar un circulo. 1 cadeneta
2. Inserta el ganchillo en la cadeneta, cogemos hilo, hacemos una lazada y pasamos por el primer loop, hacemos una lazada y pasamos por 2 loops. Continuamos en este patrón a vuelta redonda, unimos con punto raso al primer punto bajo (pb), extendido. 1 cadeneta.
3. Inserta el ganchillo en el primer pb bajo extendido, cogemos hilo, hacemos una lazada y pasamos por el primer loop, hacemos una lazada y pasamos por 2 loops. Continuamos de esta manera por la eternidad o hasta completar el patrón deseado.

It really is that simple. If you were using this stitch to crochet in rows. You would start your first ex sc in the second chain from the hook. // Así de sencillo, si deseas usar esta puntada en filas, comienza la puntada en la segunda cadeneta desde el ganchillo.
