Turn this small acorn motif into a bookmark or a pair of nature inspired earrings.

Inspiration & Design
I created this bookmark way back in 2021. I wanted to add a bit of whimsy to my Autumnal reads by creating what I considered to be the perfect bookmark.
For me this list was quite simple, Two autumnal colors, and a shape that was Autumn. Yes, I could have gone with a pumpkin or an apple, but there is just something to cute about the. As Paola of the Cottage fairy would say. They are Fairy tea cups. The third requirement for my bookmark was that it had to be thin enough to fit in the pages of a book.
In hindsight I should have crocheted the tail longer but I absolutely love how miniature the acorn motif is.
The Yarn
In order to ensure a thin bookmark tail, I choose to work with Curio Yarn from Wecrochet. This is a size 10 mercerized 100% cotton yarn. Perfect for making miniatures.
Although I wish the range carried more colors, Copper and Turmeric were perfect for my autumnal needs.
Can I make this small acorn motif?
I think so, even though there is no formal tutorial for this motif, you can see me crocheting it in my Hello Fall baking and crochet video, linked below. Not only that but the motif only uses 2 sts, single crochet and slip stitches.
- increases
- decreases
- single crochet
- slip stitches
- turning chain
If you don’t feel comfortable crocheting with such thin yarn, you can absolutely use a fingering weight or sport weight yarn to create the small acorn motif, it’ll just be less small.
