Just like a Solid Granny Square, the solid granny triangle uses dc sts and only granny st in the increase sections.

Last year, I shared how to make a version of a granny triangle. This time I thought I would share a version of what I’m going to call a solid granny triangle. Just like with the solid granny square, the only granny st used is in the increase.
For this stitch tutorial I’m going to be using worsted cotton yarn and a 5mm crochet hook.
Sts – US terms
- Ch – chain
- Sc – single crochet
- Dc- double crochet
- Trb – treble crochet
- Stacked sc – stacked single crochet
Notes:
- The solid granny triangle is worked in rows.
- Ch1 at the beg of the row doesn’t count as a st.
- I use a stacked sc to replace the first dc of each row, feel free to substitute for a ch3, or an extended sc, etc.
Solid Granny Triangle
Make a magic loop or a ch4 joined to form a loop.
- Into the magic loop for the center of the ch4 work 4dc, ch2, 4dc, ch1 and turn
- Stacked sc and dc in the first st, dc in each st, 3dc, ch2, 3dc in the ch2 space, dc in each st until 1 st remains, 2dc in this st, ch1 and turn.

Repeat row 2 until you have your triangle as big as you want it to be.
For the last row of the triangle I like to repeat row 2 instructions until the ch2 space, 3trb, ch2, 2trb in the ch 2 space and then continue with row 2 instructions.

Again, that step is entirely optional, I just like the look it gives the triangle.
Pretty simple right?
