In this granny no7 part 2 we will continue our raglan construction by separating the sleeves and body section.

As with any raglan construction once the yoke is complete we move on to working our sleeve and body separately.

Before we continue on with our granny no7 part 2 lets complete our checklist

  • Yoke is blocked and dried
  • We’ve re-measure gauge
  • We’ve tried on the yoke to get an idea of fit.

You’ve gone through the checklist? Great.

If you need to review sizing for our raglan crochet top or other helpful pattern tips…

Granny No7 top part 2

After completing round 15 of our crochet top, attach your CC to the mid back section

  • If you need more sts around the bust then make a scV in this marked st
  • If you do not need extra sts then just make a sc

Then, ch2, sk all sts until you reach the next marked st

  • If you need more sts around the bust then make a scV in this marked space as well
  • If you do not need extra sts then just make a sc
separating the granny no7 yoke

After joining our back of the yoke to our front, we are going to continue our pattern by chaining 2, [sc between the granny st, ch2] until you reach the next marked st, refer to previous bullet point. Once you’ve completed either a sc or a scV, ch2, sk all sts until you reach the next marked space, again make either a sc or a scV, ch2, [sc between the granny st, ch2] until you work the last sc before the beg st, ch2, sl st to the first st to join the round, switch to your MC

Ways of increasing for the Granny No7 part 2
adding 6 ch's at the underarm of the granny no7 part 2

Adding 6 ch’s at the underarm join, this not only increases your bust but your armhole as well.

A combination of adding ScV, 6 ch’s at the underarm join, scV in the sleeve separation round.

If you need to add even more sts you can do so in the 2nd round after the sleeve separation

Just like that we have gone from our rectangular yoke to separate “circles” for the body and the sleeves.

Granny No7 part 2 – Body

Round 1 (MC) : Working into the ch2 space to the right of our sl st, make a stacked sc, then *granny st in each ch space, until you reach the underarm, work 2dc in the first ch, 1dc in the next, (this will count as a granny st); rep from *once more, granny st in each space  until you reach the beginning space, into this space work 2dc, sl st to the first st to join the round, switch to your CC.

NOTE:

  • Yes, we are working in each ch 2 space including the ch2 of the v stitch if you made one.
  • If you need more increases you can work a granny st increase in the ch2 at the underarm

Round 2 (CC): [sc between the granny sts, ch2] repeat until you have worked the last sc between the granny sts, ch2, sl st to the first st to join the round, switch to your MC

Round 3 (MC): Working into the ch2 space to the right of our sl st, make a stacked sc, granny st in each ch space until you reach the beginning space, into this space work 2dc, sl st to the first st to join the round, switch to your CC.

Repeat rounds 2 and 3 until you reach your desired length. Counting from the sleeve separation round I worked a total of 22 rounds, unblocked this measures 8”.

Before you cut yarn and fasten off, try on your crochet top again and determine if you like the fit/length.

Next Week, we are going to complete our raglan crochet top by working up the sleeves and finishing the neckline.
