It’s been a bit of a weird week, if you ask me what I’ve done, I can’t possibly point out anything and yet I know I have worked and completed items on the work to do list… It’s just been really weird and I wanted to cheer myself up by making something fast and colorful.

I had previously shared a picture of this finished item on instagram . // Hace tiempito había compartido con ustedes esta foto por instagram y me quedé obsesionada con el producto final.
It came out so pretty that I wanted to make many more, but I also wanted to share the process of making these with you guys. It really is quite a simple and fast project.
Las jarras quedaron tan lindas y delicadas que sabía que tenía que hacer más de ellas pero también quería compartitr con ustedes el proceso. Son simples y Sencillas.
Materials // Materiales
Glass Jar thoroughly washed. Here I am using a jam jar. // Pote, jarra de cristal
Tacky Glue
Yarn in 3 different colors. I’m using // Hilo de Tejer en 3 colores diferentes
- Basic Yarn from Mainstays in the grey color
- Red Heart Love in Iced Aqua – https://amzn.to/2CXm3BO
- Caron Cupcakes In Pistachio
Hot Glue Gun // Pega Caliente
3.25mm and 5mm hook (I’m using my lovely tulip hooks. ) Or the hook recommended for your yarn. // Ganchillo
Stitches used // puntadas (US TERMS)
sc – single crochet // pb – punto bajo
sp – slip stitch // punto deslizado o raso
ch – chain // ch – cadeneta
dc – double crochet // pa – punto alto
trb – treble // pt – punto triple
- Apply tacky glue to the jar. and start wrapping in the yarn. I used the grey yarn to wrap around but you can use something more rustic as well. I leave the wrapper attached to the jar , makes it easier for the glue to stick, also a trick to keep in mind is to push the yarn close together when wrapping.
// Apliquen la pega tacky al pote o jarra de cristal y comienzen a pegar el hilo. Aquí yo utilizé el hilo gris pero pueden utilizar cualquier material que deseen para cubrir la jarra o pote. Yo le dejo la etiqueta al pote para facilitar mi vida :D.
2. Once we have covered our glass jar in the yarn, set it aside and wait for the tacky glue to dry.
While the tacky glue is drying let us make our flower.
flower instructions // instrucciones para la flor.
Use a 3.25mm hook for the first 2 rounds. // Usamos el ganchillo de 3.25mm para las primeras dos vueltas.
- using color 1 (grey) make a magic loop, ch 1, 6sc in the magic loop. Slip stitch to the first sc to join. Cut the yarn. // usando el color 1, hagan un nudo mágico y 1 cadeneta. 6 pb en el nudo mágico, punto deslizado al primer punto bajo para unir. Cortar hilo.
2. attach color 2. make a (sc, 3dc, sc ) in each sc from the previous round. join with a slip stitch to the firs sc, cut yarn. Total of 6 petals.
// Añadimos el color 2 y hacemos (pb, 3pa, pb) en cada pb de la vuelta anterior. Unimos con un punto razo al primer pb, cortamos hilo. 6 pétalos.
Use the 5mm hook // Usamos ganchillo de 5mm.
3. Working into the back of the flower. Using a slip stitch Attach color3 to the middle dc and chain 3, *slip stitch to the next petal, ch3* Repeat from * to * 4 more times. Slip Stitch to the first ch space. DO NOT FASTEN OFF.
// Trabajando en la parte de atras de la flor. Utilizamos un punto deslizado para añadir el tercer color al pa en el centro del pétalo.* 3 cadenetas, punto deslizado al pa del próximo pétalo.* Repetimos de * a * termiando la vuelta con un punto deslizado al primer espacio de cadenetas. OJO! NO CORTAR HILO
4. In each ch space work (sc, ch 1, 4 trb, 1 dc) finish the round by slip stitching into the first sc. Fasten off and weave in ends.
// En cada espacio de la vuelta anterior completaremos (1pb, 1 cadeneta, 4pt, 1pa) completaremos la vuelta con un punto deslizado en el primer pb, corten hilo y rematen.
Apply Hot Glue to the flower and glue to the glass jar.
There you have it! A fast easy project to yarn bomb your house! // Ya tienen completado este proyecto super sencillo!
There are so many different ways you can make this pattern your own! You could use the firs two steps of the simple flower to cover your pot in small flowers. You can use hemp or burlap to cove your jar.
Hay muchas maneras diferentes para ajustar este patrón a tu gusto. Pueden utilizar los primeros dos pasos de la flor y hacer muchas flores pequeñas para cubir su jarra.
