crochet top made using 200g of yarn.

It is here! The moment many of you were waiting for and I was dreading, the release of the Las Nubes Top. This crochet blouse has been haunting my mind since I received the Shalimar Yarn Aire base in the Artisan Crate from Knitcrate. I can’t even begin to describe how in love I was and am with this single-ply base. It is a luxurious blend of mohair, wool, and silk and it is probably just as soft as you are imagining, maybe even more so! I knew that I had to create a garment that was just as evocative as the yarn blend. I wanted to create a garment that would showcase the yarns cloud-like feel.

The main inspiration for this blouse was honestly the yarn. I wanted the finished fabric to feel as soft as a cloud but also be able to cover all the important torso bits. I also knew that I wanted a kind of lace border. This started my google search for lacey stitches and this video popped up. I just knew that I had to include this gorgeous stitch pattern in the border of the blouse, adapted to work in the round, of course, I really didn’t want to seam a garment. Another element that was a must in this pattern was the extended single crochet stitch because it is stretchy and comfortable stitch and I am currently obsessed with it. Seriously, try this stitch, it is life changing. Fair warning though, it is addictive and only works nicely in the round.

Garment Construction

The crochet Las Nubes Top is worked bottom up, in the round. Yes, in the round, almost no seams on this garment! Sleeves are crocheted separately and then worked into the body with the reverse raglan shaping. Once the blouse is blocked it measures 22.5″ in length. The length of the blouse can be adjusted simply by adding more rows, keep in mind this will affect the amount of yarn that is used. I’m SO EXCITED to share this pattern with you guys, SO EXCITED that I’m including a portion of the Crochet Las Nubes Top on this blog post for FREE!.
